After I posted about the 'Sale of the Year' yesterday, I started sorting and washing (and playing) with my purchases. Then disaster struck...I realized that I'd left a box of stuff at the sale! I called and called and left emails, but didn't hear back from the dealers. There were only a few options: it was put aside, it was taken by someone else or it was emptied and my stuff resold. I was not only upset about the $20 that would be lost, but also because the only thing I really wanted to keep was in that box!
Today, Bargain Hunter and her husband and I went back to the sale, which was an hour away. We were only able to do this because we were going to a "Flea Market & Antique Sale" (sarcastic quotes intended) nearby. The Flea Market was a real frog -- barely worth the $2 admission, but BH got a charcoal Pyrex Snowflake casserole for $3 that I walked right past! That was a sign to me that the day was going to go badly and my box of stuff would be gone...
Well, when we got to the sale, I immediately saw my box & a canister set I'd bought, but with other things in the box, too! The dealers had just emptied it and someone else was already buying the canisters. I talked (translate: freaked out) to the dealer and finally convinced her that I was telling the truth (actually, I think I frightened her a little) and ALL of my stuff was restored! So the day ended on a happy note -- order was restored to the universe!
Tomorrow I'll post some pictures of things from the Sale of the Year. . .I'm sure you'll be anxiously waiting for those!
